Andy Hafen

Arthur Andrew “Andy” Hafen is fifth-generation Nevadan who was born in Boulder City, Nevada and has lived in Henderson all his life, except for one year while he was attending UNLV.

He retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2002 after working on the force for more than two decades. Hafen also worked in the 1970s as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigations and as an accountant for Sunrise Hospital. He graduated from UNLV in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Hafen married the former Debra Dalton in 1973, and the couple has five daughters and one son, along with 13 grandchildren (10 girls and 3 boys).

Hafen was the mayor of Henderson from 2009-17 after serving on the Henderson City Council from 1987-2009, representing Ward 2.  He has been the President/CEO of the Henderson Historical Society since 2022
